Tesla’s push to make more Model 3 electric cars expanded outdoors this week: On June 16th, Musk announced that Tesla had built an “entire new general assembly line” in just three weeks with “minimal resources.” He posted a photo of a gleaming red Model 3, the company’s first dual-motor, all-wheel drive performance model, inside what appeared to be a very large tent. Tesla will close “about a dozen” solar installation facilities around the country as part of its recent layoffs, according to Reuters. Installation centers in California, Maryland, New Jersey, Texas, New York, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Arizona, and Delaware will be shuttered. Workers will be laid off or reassigned to other sites. About 60 similar facilities will remain open.

Experts around the world are getting increasingly worried about new AI tools that make it easier than ever to edit images and videos — especially with social media’s power to share shocking content quickly and without fact-checking. Some of those tools are being developed by Adobe, but the company is also working on an antidote of sorts by researching how machine learning can be used to automatically spot edited pictures.

Google has updated its augmented reality Measure app to support the company’s ARCore standard. The update opens up the app to more devices, including the Pixel 2, Galaxy S9, and the G7 ThinQ, as noted by 9to5Google. (Check Google’s full list here.)

Police in Tempe, Arizona, have released a new report regarding Uber’s fatal self-driving car crash last March, which reveals that the safety driver Rafaela Vasquez was streaming The Voice on Hulu on her phone at the time of the accident, via Reuters.

The crash killed 49-year old Elaine Herzberg, who was crossing the street with a bicycle when Uber’s self-driving test car struck her at 39 mph.
