Apple captured the top spot in the global smartphone market in Q4, 2020, says a report by Counterpoint Research. The Cupertino-based company shipped 81.9 million iPhone units for the same quarter, witnessing 13% Year-on-Year (YoY) growth. As per the report, the growth is attributed due to the pent-up demand for a new 5G iPhone, strong carrier promotions (especially in the US) and the iPhone 11’s longevity.
