Facebook-owned photo sharing app Instagram has announced new measures that the company will take in order to tackle the problem of abusive messages that are sent to people via Direct Messages (DMs). The company in a blog post says that the hate messages sent through DMs instead of comments are harder to address as it doesn’t “use technology to proactively detect content like hate speech or bullying the same way.”
