Centre mulls incentives for Tesla, provided carmaker sets up manufacturing in India

The government is also in touch with large global companies to set up manufacturing plants in the country. The goods and services tax (GST) on electric vehicles has been cut to 5% from 12% while that on chargers and charging stations for electric vehicles has been reduced to 5% from 18%.
