Maruti Suzuki is set to revolutionize its sales reporting by shifting from factory despatches to vehicle registrations based on the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways' (MoRTH) Vahan portal. This move aims to align car supply with actual demand and increase transparency. Dealers will now earn incentives based on Vahan registration data, a practice already followed by MG Motor India and Tata Motors. Senior executive Partho Banerjee confirmed that Maruti is advocating for industry-wide adoption of this method through SIAM.
