It was in December 2019 that Sundar Pichai was promoted from Google CEO to be the CEO of Alphabet — the parent company which has many other businesses under its umbrella. A bigger role and more responsibilities meant a jump in the annual compensation that Pichai would receive. Wondering how much Pichai earned in 2020? According to the annual proxy filing made by Google with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Pichai’s ‘base’ salary was $2 million (roughly Rs 15 crore) in 2020.
