New Delhi, Walmart group's digital payments firm PhonePe has started charging processing fees in the range of Re 1 to Rs 2 per transaction for mobile recharges done for value above Rs 50, even through UPI. The company is the first digital payments app to have started charging for UPI-based transaction which is being offered for free by its competitors.
