Passenger, commercial vehicles retail sales skid in August as heavy rains dampen sentiment

Retail sales of passenger and commercial vehicles in India declined in August due to excessive rainfall affecting consumer sentiment and economic activity. Passenger vehicle sales dropped by 4.5% and commercial vehicles by 6.05%. However, overall retail sales rose by about 3%, driven by higher two-wheeler and three-wheeler sales.
