The Sierra was originally launched with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated 483 DL diesel engine that put out 68 horsepower. However, a turbocharged version (483 DLTC) was introduced with the second-gen version of the SUV in 1997, which led to an increase in power output to about 87 hp. Both the engines came mated to a 5-speed manual transmission only.
