Indian automobile retail sales surged by nearly 18 percent in January. This growth was fueled by post-GST momentum and strong rural demand from harvest and wedding seasons. Passenger vehicle sales saw a 7 percent increase, while two-wheeler sales jumped 21 percent. Three-wheeler and commercial vehicle segments also reported healthy gains. Tractor registrations rose significantly.
