Indian carmakers have agreed to new fuel efficiency rules, CAFE 2027. These norms will limit CO2 emissions for passenger cars starting April 1, 2027. The industry body SIAM finds the guidelines balanced. Automakers will improve fleet emissions annually until 2031-32. The government will issue the final notification soon.
