Maruti Suzuki has been focused on regaining its market share in the Indian automotive industry after noticing that more customers were shifting from fuel-efficiency to performance and image. The carmaker, which previously dominated the Indian market with affordable and easy-to-maintain small cars, struggled when sport utility vehicle (SUV) sales rocketed, accounting for over 45% of the market by July 2022.
