Nissan is reportedly planning to shut down two car assembly plants in Japan and considering closing two factories in Mexico as part of a restructuring effort. The automaker aims to reduce its workforce by around 15% and decrease production plants globally. These potential closures mark Nissan's first domestic plant shutdowns since 2001.
